Schema Conflict: Functional Schema and Configurational Schema
In this paper, I discuss the cases of schema conflicts in the process of combination of primitive schemas. I claim that a functional schema overcomes a configurational schema in a case of the conflict of the two schemas. I also show that a more abstract functional schema wins over a less abstract or more concrete schema when two functional schemas conflict with each other.

متن کاملDesktop Schema Evolution - Editing Schema

The evolution to be discussed is captured from several points of view; (1) Schema translation causes changing database states. (2) Three kinds of evolutions, type evolution, predicate evolution and complex type evolution are proposed. (3) Completeness propert...

Deductive object bases (DOBs) attempt to combine the advantages of de-ductive relational databases with those of object-oriented databases. From an application perspective it is often not clear for what kind of applications this combination yields signiicant advantages. We argue for supporting distributed design environments by deductive object bases as repositories and summarize experiences ma...
